Events Manager - Lancaster & Chester Counties
Good Samaritan Services (GSS) is an award-winning, high-impact non profit organization. We are passionate about helping our neighbors in need.

GSS provides emergency shelter, transitional housing and permanent housing services to individuals and families all across Lancaster & Chester Counties. We have office locations in Ephrata, Lancaster City, Phoenixville and Coatesville. Annually, we serve over 400 people in our housing programs.

We are dependent on creating relationships with donors who can support our work. Our annual operating budget is 1.7M and allows us to provide many life-changing programs to hundreds of people.

We are looking for an exceptional person to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in organizing successful fundraising events. The Events Manager reports to: Development Director and CEO

Status: Part-time, 25 - 30 hours per week. Schedule will be negotiated.

Position Summary:

This position is a non-exempt hourly wage position with a flexible schedule. The role requires the person to assist the Development Director and development-related committees with event planning and execution. This positions requires occasional travel across Chester & Lancaster Counties.

GSS holds 6-7 fundraising events every year. The Events Manager will be responsible with leading the planning and execution of each event. The goal for all of our events is to see an increase in attendance, engagement and revenue.

Non-profit fundraising requires passion for the mission of the organization, and a willingness to communicate that passion to others. Appreciating the work of Good Samaritan Services as a whole, and recognizing and cherishing the lives of those whose lives are improved by this work, our development staff can be instruments of tremendous positive change in the lives of hundreds of people every year. To do this, we work as a team to fund the organization. Each piece of the development team is essential, and highly prized.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of the Events Manager:

1. Working with development committee and/or specific event committees

2. Setting sponsor levels and benefits

3. Finding and increasing Sponsors

4. Increasing attendance at all of the events

5. Utilizing social media as a way to promote our events and attract new attendees

6. Organizing Silent Auctions

7. Securing entertainment

8. Venue: food & facilities

9. Works with staff and designers to create invitations, sponsorship materials and marketing graphics

10. Thank you notes to committee members, sponsors, etc.

11. Analysis & notes for future events

12. Maintain sponsor relationships throughout the year
