Where Business and Education Connect
Celebration at WJTL's Landis Hall, Scholarships and Golf
Dear HMS parents, ,

In addition to guest speaker, Allon Lefever, HMS Board President Keith Brubacher,
HMS Administrator Dawn Landes,
Zook Interiors President Floyd Zook
and Landis Communities CEO Larry Zook addressed the crowd.

Thanks for Joining Us!
We celebrated local entrepreneurship and small business at our 7th Annual Business Networking Breakfast
in the new Landis Hall at the Junction Center (home of WJTL) on April 12. Thanks to all who shared the morning with us at this special event location!

Also thank you for welcoming our Venture Program students as they joined guests around tables to hear presenter Allon Lefever encourage leaders to integrate values into their business practices.

And it was great to have Jennie (Weaver) Groff, '91, share how the global connections she made at HMS inspired her to find ways to connect with refugees through her business, the Stroopie Company of Lancaster.

As a bonus, each guest received an autographed copy of Allon's new book, Launching the Entrepreneur Ship.

Tax Credit Renewal Window Open thru June 29!

HMS students serve in the community each spring to assist with grounds maintenance and other service projects at local organizations.
Each year more than half of HMS
students receive some need-based financial aid through EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) program or its companion, the OSTC (Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit) program. Business gifts through these programs fund scholarships to assist today's students becoming strong community leaders for tomorrow!

If you would like to renew your participation, you can
re-apply online from May 15 through June 29 at the DCED website.

EITC and OSTC will open to new participants on July 2, 2018.

See this instructions fact sheet for more program and application information.

Your CPA should already be familiar with these popular tax credit programs, but if not, feel free to contact me for assistance.

Thanks for your consideration of this and other creative options that enable Hinkletown Mennonite School to impact students' lives and futures!

Gratefully yours,
Jody Fausnight

Venture Program Offers Unique Partnership Opportunities

The HMS Venture Program, for grades 9-12 students, will continue the faith-based, hands-on and individualized instruction that HMS is known for, plus much more!

Missions trips, internships and the chance to study at your own pace are also included in a program that will help students prepare for vocational and/or college placements.

Businesses interested in learning more about partnerships or hosting students for job shadowing or internship placements, contact Dawn Landes, Administrator/Principal (dlandes@hmsk8.org or 717-354-7100 x1006) or Megan Ament, Venture Program Coordinator (mament@hmsk8.org or 717-354-7100).
