This yearly time of gathering is designed to encourage sharing and learning from each other as well as from featured speakers. Monday, May 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the High Foundation Auditorium located on the campus of Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543. Palmer has served the church as a pastor, church planter, missionary, conference executive, author and educator. His books "What is an Anabaptist Christian?" and "Anabaptist Essentials, Ten Signs of a Unique Christian Faith," have been translated into numerous languages and have led to various overseas teaching tours. The meeting will take place at the Grape Leaf Empowerment Center in the lower level of the James Street Mennonite Church, 323 West James St. Light refreshments will be served.
At this meeting we will hear updates from: - Lancaster's application to become an official Welcoming City (a distinction that only a few cities across the US have earned)
- Programs across the county who are offering adult ESL classes
- The Refugee Center and Community School at Reynolds Middle School
- The Computers for Refugees (and immigrants) program
- Upcoming volunteer training at the Literacy Council
- IU13 Community Education and the Literacy Council's Career Pathways programs for English learners
