Tuesday, August 27, we cut the ribbon and officially opened the Declaration House!  All three County commissioners were present, along with State Senator Ryan Aument, State Representative Mindy Fee, U.S. Congressman Lloyd Smucker, and many more.  With over half of the 10 apartments leased, three residents shared what this project and community have done to make their lives better.  The Denver Community Health Center is taking appointments for the first week of September, with dental, medical and behavioral health services available to people from all walks of life.  REAL Life Community Services will be offering assistance with social services Monday—Friday, between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm.  Feel free to drop by and visit!

With only $56,000 left to finish the Capital Campaign, we are so amped!  The Donor Wall will be dedicated sometime during the winter of 2020. The Campaign will stay open until December 31, 2019 so if you want your name on the Donor Wall, contact us to make a donation.

We would like to introduce some of the newest residents of the Declaration House Apartments to you.

Maggie Leon and her son, Jordan, recently moved to the Declaration House from Lebanon City.  Maggie is a personal healthcare assistant and is originally from the Philadelphia area.  Jordan is a 9th grader, enrolled at the Cocalico High School.  He loves video games and both of them are avid Eagles fans.

We welcome Maggie and Jordan to our community and are so thankful to all who have helped them to move in and feel at home.

Saturday, August 17, REAL Life Community Services partnered with the Denver Community Health Center and UGI to provide immunizations, dental screenings, backpacks, school supplies and haircuts to 18 families and over 30 area students.  Another 40 backpacks were distributed to the school district for students in need during the school year.  Special thanks to Clover Farms Dairy and Pepperidge Farms for providing food for the event.
REAL wants to invite you and your organization to partner with us.  Annually, we hold two banquets a year and 1-2 other special events for which we need sponsorship.  In place of coming to you prior to each event, we would like you to consider adding us to your 2020 budget.

As a partner, you would be recognized depending on the level at which you choose to join us.

Executive Partner - $5,000 a year or $1,250/quarter.  This level would garner mention at all REAL Life Community Services events, reserve a table at each banquet and put the partner's name on our website and Facebook page.

Corporate Partner - $2,500 a year, or $625 /quarter.  This level would earn the partner mention at all REAL Life Community Events and reserve a table at each banquet.

Community Partner - $1,200 or $100 a month.  This level is partnership in both banquets and would reserve a table at each event for that partner.

Please consider these options in your 2020 Fiscal Budgets.  We appreciate your support!
The Denver Fair is almost here!  Are you ready? We are!  Milkshakes, slushies and parfaits will be served at Pavilion #2!

We will be up and ready for business starting at 4 pm on Tuesday, September 10.  Join us for fun, food and fellowship.  Volunteer spots still available.  Please contact Sue Moyer at sue@reallcs.org.
Tuesday, September 17th is our Lighthouse Youth Center Kick Off.  We look forward to see all our friends after a long, hot summer.  Remember that any 6-12 grade Cocalico Student can come.  You can preregister here.
November 22 is the Extraordinary Give.  REAL Life Community Services would like to count on you to help us meet our goal of $30,000 in donations during that 24 hour time frame.

We will have giving booths at both Courtyard Café in Denver and at Weis Markets in Ephrata.  Donations can be made online from any device between 12:01 am and 11:59 pm that day.  More information will be coming, but put this date on your calendar!

You can even have your very own fundraising website for REAL Life Community Services that day—be a Peer 2 Peer partner!  For more information, contact Rod Redcay, rod@reallcs.org.

With the opening of the Declaration House, REAL Life Community Services has a physical office now!  We are located at 240 Main St, Denver, in Suite B, at the end of the hall when you enter the building.  Our office hours will be Monday—Friday, between 9 am and 4 pm.  Our phone number, 717-336-7797, will get you to any of our staff or volunteer leaders.

Please remember that we are here to serve residents of the Cocalico School District with assistance in the area of social services.  With our partners in the Northern Lancaster Hub, we can schedule appointments for  residents with any of the 24 partners in the Hub to be held in our offices.  For more information on the different services available to you, please go to our website, www.reallcs.org.

HUB Shuttle Bus
With our partners in the Northern Lancaster Hub, we are excited to offer shuttle service from Denver to the Ephrata Library.  This will help Cocalico area residents take advantage of the many services being offered and at the Community Commons and in the Ephrata area. Transportation is available by simply calling EASS to schedule your ride. Also, at this point in time, transportation is available Monday – Friday, 8:45 am – 3:30 pm. We will be expanding that to include evenings and Saturdays.  Please contact Ephrata Area Social Services to take advantage of this wonderful program.
Distributions begin September 18—have you registered or do you know students on free or reduced lunches in the Cocalico School District that would like to register?  Please contact us at info@reallcs.org.
