• Music in the Orchard—Outdoor summer concerts begin at the 1719 Herr House & Museum at 6 p.m. on June 9 with a performance by Joy Ike and an opening by Alex Brubaker. Concerts continue rain or shine every other Saturday through August 4.
• Blacksmithing Class—Take up a hammer and learn how to blacksmith under the tutelage of the Herr House blacksmiths on Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is due June 9, the class costs $65. Register at www.hansherr.org or call (717) 464-4438.
• What Young Historians are Thinking—Hear from young scholars from historic peace churches share their research at 1:30 p.m. on June 2 in Hoover 110 at Elizabethtown College, 1 Alpha Dr, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Paula Holtzinger will present "Tracing the Trajectory of Racial Engagement within Mennonite Central Committee, 1985-2005," Jenae Longenecker will present "Objection Overruled? Reformulating the Mennonite Witness Regarding Law," and Kyle Stockdale will share "Anabaptists in the Military: Stories of Conscripted Men from Indiana-Michigan Conference." A reception will follow.
• Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society is hiring an Operations Coordinator, based at 2215 Millstream Road, Lancaster, and a Gift Shop Manager, based at the 1719 Herr House and Museum, Willow Street.
