No images? Click here Dear MCC friends and supporters, We trust you and your loved ones are doing well during these extraordinary days. We see you responding to needs in your families, local communities and worldwide. We are encouraged. Times of uncertainty call us to dig deeper into faith – to cast all our anxiety on God because God cares so deeply for us (1 Peter 5:7). We believe this is a time to recommit ourselves to caring for our neighbors and acting generously – whether in our own homes, across the street or around the world. We want to let you know how MCC is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic as we remain committed to sharing God's love and compassion with all in the name of Christ. As a ministry of the Anabaptist church, our work continues in more than 50 countries around the world. Although restrictions on travel have limited some of our programs, staff are working hard to stay in touch with partners and are regularly assessing the situation in each location. Our primary concern continues to be the health and well-being of our staff, volunteers, partners and those they serve. A number of our local MCC offices and material resources centers have taken the precautionary step of closing to the public. Be assured that staff in your local office are still working and are available to answer your questions via email or phone. As well, many events have been canceled or postponed, including relief sales and learning tours. For a list of all cancellations, please click here. There are MCC Thrift shops that have also closed to the public or adopted limited hours of operation. For more information, please click here. Many people and organizations around the world are taking similar precautionary steps. During this time, we encourage you to continue supporting the causes you're passionate about, including MCC. We know those on the margins of society become even more vulnerable when a crisis like this hits. Finally, we invite you to stay connected via social media – Facebook, Twitter or Instagram – and on our website where we will be updating actions we are taking in response to this pandemic. Thank you. As always, we are grateful that you're part of the MCC story. Yours in Christ, J Ron Byler, MCC U.S. Executive Director Rick Cober Bauman, MCC Canada Executive Director |
