Genealogy for Tomorrow: How Looking Back Helps Us to Look Forward

Mennonite Life Visitors Center Associate and former pastor Verle Brubaker will lead a family systems and genealogy workshop Tuesday, March 24, 6:00–8:00 p.m., in the Mennonite Life Community Room. This workshop will provide researchers and others interested in genealogy with a valuable approach to meaningful genealogical research by exploring the questions: What is the motivation of genealogists? Why look to the past? What generational patterns repeat in my own story? Verle will introduce the eight concepts of Bowen family systems, a theory analyzing family connections and their emotional significance. Participants will then create their own family diagram. This workshop costs $20 per participant. Pre-registration is required and capacity is limited. Find more information and register at mennonitelife.org/events.
