Call to Prayer

We received a request from the Church of the Brethren, one of our sister denominations and a historic peace church, to share this information about the crisis in Nigeria. We ask that you would offer a prayer on behalf of our brothers and sisters in Nigeria in your Sunday morning worship service.

The Church of the Brethren in Nigeria is experiencing increasing suffering brought on by an attempt by Boko Haram insurgents to make northeast Nigeria into an Islamic rule. Estimates are that more than 90,000 Church of the Brethren in Nigeria have been displaced by the fighting this year. They have seen many of the COB churches and congregations destroyed, as thousands of church members have been killed and pastors and their families have been among the hundreds more people abducted since the Chibok schoolgirls were taken.

More information about this situation is included in the attached article.

Thank you for your prayers.
