Dear Pastor/leader,
Greetings in the Name of the One who brings new life, our Lord Jesus Christ.
In just a little over a week, we will be gathering for our 2016 Celebration of Church Life (CCL). This year, we will be following a new format, beginning with a worship service on Friday evening, March 18, and ending on Saturday afternoon, March 19. We plan to gather in the Fine Arts Center of Lancaster Mennonite High School. No activities are planned for Sunday.
As you know, we are in a season of transition in Lancaster Mennonite Conference. For some congregations, this is a challenging time of sorting out affiliation questions. Others are experiencing a sense of peace and are looking forward to a hopeful future together. My best hope for our time together is that we can celebrate our shared life in Christ in ways that respect everyone and inspire all of us to embrace the new life God has for us.
It seems clear that the Lord is inviting LMC on a faith journey - from promise to fulfillment. That this journey includes a wilderness of pain and disorientation should not surprise us. If we are willing to place our trust in the Lord, He will lead us through to fulfillment of 2020 Vision, We See New Life!
If you have not already done so, please encourage members of your congregation to attend this gathering. I anticipate that it will be a special time of encouragement and inspiration for our family of congregations.
It would help us plan for the Saturday meal and workshop spaces if folks planning to attend would register. Please refer people to the attached Weekend Overview or the LMC website for registration.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the CCL weekend. In the meantime, please pray for God's blessing on our gathering.
