No Longer Alone Ministries (NLAM) is pleased to welcome Dr. Terry Webb as the facilitator at the upcoming meeting of Family Support Group (FSG) on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Dr. Webb, author of Tree of Life: The Grace of God and Addiction Recovery and one of several founders of the Global Outreach for Addiction Leadership and Learning (GOAL) will present on the topic of Addictions and Mental Illness. Historically GOAL has responded to invitations from countries such as Russia, Romania, Honduras, Belize, Tajikistan, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ghana to assist them in responding to issues around addiction. More recently the organization has heard the call to reach out to US clergy and churches as well. Currently a team of presenters provides expert training with funding from the Lancaster County drug and alcohol commission. Much of the burden of care for persons with mental illness rests on families. Family Support Group (FSG) is a place where individuals who have a loved one experiencing mental illness can find Christian support. Burdens shared become lighter and group members feel strengthened and empowered for the journey. The goal of FSG is to give hope and encouragement to family and friends by presenting educational topics and providing a time to share. Gaining knowledge about mental illness, combined with the prayers and understanding of others who have faced similar situations, have proven to be invaluable. A NLAM staff member is present to offer consultation and support each month.

| Eastern Mennonite University Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience (STAR) Are you a Teacher? Principal? School counselor? Social worker? Police Officer? Pastor? Mission worker? Church Leader? Work with children and youth? This training is for you and it's coming to Lancaster, Pa. in March! Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience (STAR) is a program of Eastern Mennonite University's Center for Justice and Peacebuilding that aims to strengthen the capacity of individuals, organizations, and communities to understand the impacts of trauma, interrupt cycles of violence, and build resilience at personal, community, and societal levels. It is a five-day research-supported trauma awareness and resilience-training program that brings together theory and practice from neurobiology, conflict transformation, human security, spirituality, and restorative justice to address the needs of trauma-impacted individuals and communities. At the end of the training participants will be able to bring a trauma-informed perspective to their personal and professional lives, present the basic concepts, and use the tools with others. This STAR Level 1 training will be held at Eastern Mennonite University at Lancaster, which is located at 1846 Charter Lane in the Greenfield Corporate Center. The cost of the five-day (March 20-24, 2017) training is $749.00. The offices of Gibbel Kraybill & Hess LLP, 2933 Lititz Pike Attorneys Ann Martin and Dwight Yoder will review the significant changes made to Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services law since 2015, aspects of the law identified by child protection advocates and legislators as requiring further clarification, and how effectively the state's hotline for reporting child abuse is functioning. The presentation is geared toward those who work with children in churches and other nonprofit organizations. A light lunch is included.

Led by Jill Reichert, PRC Staff Join us for an evening discussing summer missions trips and services projects for youth. What has worked for you? What hasn't? Jill Reichert is a full-time PRC staff consultant and has spent many years as a Christian Educator in local Presbyterian churches. Her ministry education is from Lancaster Theological Seminary and Union Theological Seminary (Richmond, Va.). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to sporting events and concerts for her youngest son, as well as being mesmerized by a whole new world as her eldest son moves into a career with Aerospace Engineering.

Lancaster, on April 27 from 7-9 p.m. The speaker will be Mark Yarhouse, Psy.D. He is Professor Psychology at Regent University and director of the Institute for the Study of Sexual Identity. He has researched and written extensively on the subject of sexual identity. Bishops, Pastors, and interested congregational leaders are encouraged to attend.
