So many of the children that come to Crossfire each week find themselves in a battle. They are surrounded by storms of homelessness, neglect and abuse. They live in fear, and their little bodies are stressed, operating mostly in survival mode. Again this past week, we witnessed how God has used us as His place of refuge; a family of children riddled with uncertainty and no place to sleep, laid down their burdens for a few hours and CAME ALIVE. No words were necessary, their faces spoke of the joy they were experiencing in the shade Crossfire extended over them. Psalm 32:6-8 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Our greatest joy is seeing the children grow in their spiritual journeys and it is a privilege to be able to be a defense and a shelter to them in their distress...and to ensure them that God's loving eye is on them...even when they are back in the storm!
