Spring Leadership Assembly

Cost is $30 per person, payable at the door via check or cash.
This initiative is co-sponsored by LMC, Barnabas Initiatives and Evangelical Theological Seminary. The theme will be Multi-ethnic Church. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from various speakers, a panel discussion and participate in table discussions. The event aims to encourage and assist multi-ethnic households and churches by finding ways to honor the image of God in persons of all colors.

Revive Initiative: Reimagining God's Mission for the Church

An exciting event for families and kids of all ages

Music has always been important to Pastor Jeff McLain, and because of that he loves seeing kids get excited about music. Recently, his friend Brian released a kids music project, as his renowned Dave and Brian comedy act came to a close. That project was released under the moniker "Senor Fancypants." Jeff's kids not only got excited about his music, they haven't taken it out of their CD player in months.

Lisa Landis and the Kids Cookie Break will also be hanging out, hosting the festivities and having fun playing Cookie Break games and giving you chances to play and win!

Move in mission locally — join Friends of EMM (Eastern Mennonite Missions)!
Would you like to contribute your unique voice and talents to God's mission around the world? Come to a Friends of EMM gathering to learn how! Friends of EMM gatherings will help you explore ways that you can move in mission locally through Eastern Mennonite Missions (EMM), like volunteering at EMM's offices and events or communicating vision between EMM and the broader community. These twice-a-year gatherings will feature mission inspiration and resources over a delicious brunch. Upcoming gathering: Saturday, May 19, 9–11 a.m., at EMM's meetinghouse in Salunga, Pa. Eastern Mennonite Missions' Peru Trek for PROMESA (plus English Camp!)
EMM is looking for trekkers to go on an adventure fundraising trip into the Andes Mountains! From August 24–September 4, hike the stunning Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, the world-famous Incan citadel. Funds raised through the trek will benefit PROMESA, a Peruvian Mennonite school. At the end of the trek, visit PROMESA to meet the children you've been trekking for. It's an unforgettable adventure with a life-changing purpose! If trekking isn't for you, sign up for the new English Camp option. Travel to Peru, see the sights, and help PROMESA students improve their English! Registration deadline April 30. Family History Conference
Now more than ever, historic newspapers are becoming digitized and easily accessible to everyone everywhere. The 2018 Lancaster Family History Conference will examine how newspapers enhance family history. Writer and columnist James M. Beidler will share insights in his keynote speech, "Extra! Extra! Research All About It." The conference runs April 19-21, 2018. The Saturday conference will take place at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. Open House
All campuses of Lancaster Mennonite School will hold an open house Sunday, April 22, from 1-3 p.m. Parents of prospective students from prekindergarten through high school will have the opportunity to talk with school leaders, meet teachers and tour the facilities. Immersive Theatre Experience
Explore the power of story! Join Lancaster Mennonite High School for an immersive theatre experience, April 26-28, with shows at 7 p.m. all three days and a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee. Audience members are invited to the stage to enjoy excerpts from Broadway's most recent and popular productions including Hamilton and Wicked. Light refreshments will be provided. Clergy and Lay Leaders Breakfast
Clergy and Lay Leaders are invited to the 2018 Landis Communities Clergy Breakfast. It will be held from 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday, April 19 in the West Community Room at Landis Homes 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA. Titled "Meaningful Memorial Services" it is designed to help pastors and others as they work to craft services that are meaningful for families and congregations. It will be led by Joy Swartley Sawatzky. She is a Pastor at Souderton Mennonite Homes and an accomplished storyteller. Joy will share examples and techniques she uses in designing services meaningful to families and friends of those who have passed on. A hymn sing with five different Lancaster County religious groups, illustrating and commenting on the distinct musical styles of the Mennonites, Church of the Brethren, Old Order Amish, Old Order Mennonites, and Brethren in Christ. Audience participation encouraged. Free and open to the public.

The Development of Carriage Making among the Amish and Mennonites with Isaac Reiff and Jacob King
A Lancaster County Amish and a Union County Mennonite Carriage Maker will trace the rise and fall of carriage making from the 1930s to the present, including the use of hydraulic brakes, fiberglass, lighting and other changes. Free and open to the public.

FSG brings Christian support for families and friends of loved ones with mental illness. There are informative topics to enhance insight and understanding of mental illness. Meetings are normally held on the fourth Sunday of each month from 3- 5 p.m. at Rossmere Mennonite Church, 741 Janet Ave, Lancaster. Educational program runs from 3-4 p.m.; Share and Care Groups meet from 4:10-5 p.m.

Beyond Ourselves Benefit Concert
Join the Beyond Ourselves chamber ensemble and the Music for Everyone Community Chorus for an evening of music at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, at Neffsville Mennonite Church. Proceeds from the concert will go to support hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico and Haiti through Mennonite Disaster Service and Mennonite Central Committee.
