Sometimes a small investment makes a huge difference.
The treasures we share with others have a lasting impact in the world. Thanks to the bountiful grace of God and the love of our supporters, more and more people are joining the movement to provide rental assistance to families! Those who have joined all agree, "It's Good to Be Home!" We are investing in the lives of families, insuring that children and their mother's steer clear of the trauma of homelessness.
When asked what receiving rental assistance meant to her and her family, one mom shared that, "It has been like opening God's treasure chest in a time of need. In 2017, I was forced to leave my home after being there for three years. My children and I bounced around to various relatives houses. I applied for apartments for over a year without results... until I came to Good Samaritan. Thanks to your team, I was able to pay my deposit and now I have the support and peace of mind that my children and I will never be homeless again. It takes more than a few sentences to express my gratitude."
The benefits of your financial support can be counted in terms of how many mothers and children avoid the crisis of homelessness, but really, the positive impact of your gift goes on much further; helping children to avoid trauma that leads to more illness, more days missed from school, lower grades and greater limitations on their future prospects. – Think of that! You are making positive impact which reverberates across generations!
Rental Assistance has changed the lives of many women and children in our program, and we look forward to partnering with you as we continue to better our communities and support family stability.

| | Have you ever thought that people who are experiencing homelessness are lazy?
Meet Stephanie.
She wakes up at 4:30 in the morning, gets her two small children ready, drops them off at daycare and drives 45 minutes to work. She works 10 hour shifts. She's doing everything she can to improve her life, and we are here to help her on her path to stability.
Poverty and homelessness are not as simple as labeling someone as lazy or unmotivated. There are often real and complex issues which cause individuals and families to experience difficult times.
It is important that we respond to people without judgment or criticism. We should respond with open hearts and willing hands to serve. | | | | Doubling His Resources through Matched Savings! | "I used to spend money as soon as I got it. Now I know how important it is to save money for my kids and to think about the future."
Thanks to our Matched Savings Program, Mike (left in the photo) learned how to manage his budget and save money. We awarded him with a $600 check for successfully completing the program.
We have awarded over $45,000 to clients of GSS through our Matched Savings Program. This life-changing program is teaching our clients the necessary tools to escape poverty.

Across the years, friends of Bridge of Hope Lancaster & Chester Counties, and friends of Good Samaritan Shelter have graciously identified these organizations through a variety of financial instruments including charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts and other bequests.

In order to assure that our work continues, and to assure that your support for our mission reaches long into the future, we respectfully request that you advise your attorney or account manager to stipulate that your legacy gift be directed to Good Samaritan Services.
