Take the 3-21 Challenge Join me in showing support for the Down Syndrome Protection Act - House Bill 321 Hi Kelly, This year's first day of Spring is extra special. It's also the start of a challenge I make to you. March 20th not only marks a new season and the blooms of Spring, but also marks the start of new life for Pennsylvania's Down Syndrome Protection Act. State elected officials will hold a press conference to announce the introduction of House Bill 321, this session's Down Syndrome Protection Act. It was one year ago when this journey began to protect babies diagnosed with Down syndrome from being targeted for abortion here in Pennsylvania. And there have been many highlights: Karen Gaffney delivering a passionate speech in our Capitol Rotunda. Disability advocate Joni Eareckson Tada and pro-life leader Lila Rose endorsing the bill. Thousands of people across the state contacting their legislators in support. Passage of the bill with a 71% bipartisan majority in the PA House of Representatives. But perhaps my favorite has been one of the dozens of children standing with their families in support of this effort who said after the PA House vote, "Thank you for saving babies like me." We want to save lives here in Pennsylvania. The Down Syndrome Protection Act is one way we can do it. So I challenge you to take the 3-21 Challenge. Here are the details. March 20th: Press conference announcing House Bill 321. March 21st (3/21): World Down Syndrome Day. Why 3-21? Because it symbolizes trisomy 21, better known as Down syndrome, which is a 3rd copy of the 21st chromosome. From the start of the press conference to the end of World Down Syndrome Day, we want to encourage as many calls into the state Senate and House offices as possible in support of the Down Syndrome Protection Act. That's the 3-21 Challenge. 3 calls in 21 hours. Join us in making 3 calls: 1. Your State Senator, 2. Your State Representative, 3. A friend or family member (encouraging them to join you in the 3/21 Challenge) The message is simple: "Please support the Down Syndrome Protection Act - House Bill 321." If you need phone numbers, you can access them through our form on our action alert at pafamily.org/protect. The 21 hour span for the challenge: Wednesday, March 20 (10am - 7pm) - Thursday, March 21 (7am - 7pm) Thank you in advance for taking on this 3-21 Challenge. With children being targeted for abortion right here in Pennsylvania simply because they have Down syndrome, may this challenge help us advance the Down Syndrome Protection Act this session.
