Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The sun has risen on a new day, God is good all the time, all the time God is good. WHat a pleasure to have these moments to grow the Kingdom of God. We have been praying for the many churches, non-profits, pastors, and communities we serve. Our prayers have been that in the midst of chaos the blessings of God would be undeniable, His wisdom easily discernable, and His peace ever comforting. We share the weight of on-site ministry pausing, the stress of finances, and uncertainty in ever-changing expectations. As social distancing moves into a regathering time, we at Camp Hebron are ready to walk beside you in ministry. We know the picture of what "church" is has shifted over the last few months. We feel like we are still figuring out what impact it will have on ministry. If you have ideas, questions, or need ideas on how to build or rebuild community we would love to provide resources. If you need a space for church planning or retreat our facilities are ready. We know the opinions and ideas on how best to start to regather are many. We understand individuals and families have differing opinions on what's best. Our staff and board here at Camp Hebron spent many hours in prayer, discernment, and reflection. We did decide to move forward with a modified summer camp program. We are committed to following the guidelines of the state of Pennsylvania, the CDC, the American Camps Association, and the American Camp Nurses Association. We respect that many camps across this country have elected to close for the summer. Many families and young people need a change of pace and place. Our goal is to provide as safe a place as possible so that those families that are looking for summer camp options have choices. As long as Dauphin County is in a "green" phase and we are allowed to open we will begin camp June 28th. Our youth camps, day camps, and family camps will have modifications to operations in order to limit the opportunity for contagious disease spread. Our specific prevention and response plans are available on the Camp Hebron website www.camphebron.org Please share with your congregations that our summer camps are open. We would also like to remind you that as a professional in ministry it's our pleasure to offer you and your immediate family free two night and three-day personal retreats. We pray God's strength over your body and mind, we pray God's wisdom in decision making and we pray God's peace with those decisions as you move forward. If you have questions or need anything do not hesitate to reach out to us and it would be our pleasure to offer further assistance. Blessings, Deke Rider Executive Director Camp Hebron |
