October 2022
THIS FRIDAY is our First Friday Food Drive!
Faith and Family Night 2022, was not only a beautiful summer evening but  such a FUN time!
Over 100 people came out to enjoy entertainment by comedian Gordon Douglas, children's entertainer Phredd Ukelele One Man Band, and music by Three Cords Bound! Our staff and volunteers, enjoyed handing out bags of candy, popcorn, and balloons to many of the kids who came by!
We also received the $25,000 check from State Farm Neighborhood Assist!
This check will go towards the purchase of a van that will continue our mission of connecting the community to hope! Thank you to Garrett Bogden, Matt Williams, Dan Bost, Dave Zimmerman, Ray D'Agostino, and Derek Forney for joining us for this check presentation!
Cocalico Needs Awareness Summit
With inflation skyrocketing and the end of both the COVID Relief programs and eviction moratorium, we have seen a hug increase in evictions, homelessness, and food insecurity.  This crisis has led us, at REAL Life, to host the Cocalico Needs Awareness Summit!  With key partners, Ephrata Area Social Services and the Cocalico School District, Rod led a discussion with area pastors and other stakeholders about how we can collaborate together to address the needs families are facing!  We know that our resources are going to be depleted, so we are asking our faith-community leaders to help us by referring those in need to one of the two social service agencies operating in our community.  We are also asking the churches to continue to financially support our benevolence efforts; keeping families off the streets, in their homes, warm, and fed.  If you are interested in supporting REAL Life and our efforts to connect our community to Hope, please click the link below!  Thank you!

With the increase in needs in the Cocalico Community, we at Cocalico Cares are providing a survey for you to fill out to help us better understand our community needs!  Please take 5 minutes to click the link and fill out the survey.  Thank You!

Momentum is Building!

Momentum middle school mentoring program is held every Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 8 pm during the school year. Students will meet at the Lighthouse Community Center at 239 Main Street, Denver PA.

Mentoring guarantees a young person that there is someone who cares about them. A child needs to know that they are not alone in dealing with the day-to-day challenges of life. Our young adult and high school mentors seek to be a friend who is there to help in any number of situations.

Please contact us to learn more about how your child can be a part of the Momentum mentoring program.  For more information check out our website!
