The 1719 Museum offers a complimentary five week tour guide training starting Saturday, February 11, 9:00 am-11:00 am. Fooling with the Amish: Book Signing and Presentation Mennonite Life hosts Dirk Eitzen, author of Fooling with the Amish: Amish Mafia, Entertaining Fakery, and the Evolution of Reality TV on Monday, February 13, at 6:30 pm in the Mennonite Life Community Room. Eitzen, PhD, and Professor of Film & Media at Franklin & Marshall College, will discuss why the public is so taken with reality shows, the potential dangers of this genre and how the ex-Amish participants became involved in the show. Winter Workshop: Fraktur Sampler Booklet Join local artists Lynn Sommer and Jim King on Friday, February 17, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, in the Community Room of Mennonite Life to explore the Pennsylvania German art of fraktur. Choosing from sample fraktur lettering and folk art designs, participants will create their own fraktur sampler booklet (8 ½" x 4 ¼") for future creative reference. The cost of the class is $95.00.
