The joy of gathering in person after the pandemic years of Zoom meetings was tempered by sadness over Executive Committee members and regional representatives who were not present. Visa problems prevented attendance from all but one of the invitees from Africa and another from Asia. "It was very disheartening to see so many visas either delayed or denied by the Canadian government," said David Martin, volunteer development consultant. "It is difficult for us to function as a worldwide communion of faith when the largest population of Anabaptists in MWC are not at the decision-making table. MWC will need to find creative ways to address these challenges so that we can truly function as a global communion of faith." | |  Do you love to drive and meet people? Landis Communities is looking for a Care Navigator for Landis Place on King, Steeple View Lofts and future properties. MSW or RN preferred (others with related experience considered). The Care Navigator will provide access to resources and support to residents in order for them to meet wellness goals and to age in place and thrive in the community. The Care Navigator will work collaboratively with the Landis Communities team, and with community resources, in order to best support residents and their needs. This position requires at least 5 years of experience in care coordination, case management, home, and community-based services or equivalent experience. This position requires the ability to work independently, creatively solve problems and effectively communicate. This position is 16 hours/week with the possibility of an increase in the future. Spanish and English language proficiency preferred.  Mennonite Life Offers Intro to Cemetery Research Class
Mennonite Life offers an Intro to Cemetery Research class on Saturday, June 3, 9:30am – 11:30am. The class begins at the Mennonite Life library and concludes with a visit to a local cemetery for demonstrations and hands-on research experience. The cost is $35 per person, and the class will be limited to 30 participants. Register by May 31 at mennonitelife.org or by calling 717-393-9745. If you are beginning family history research, this class, led by James C. Landis, will be invaluable for learning what to expect on your research journey and where to locate private cemetery and burial records. In today's information-intense environment, it is hard to believe this basic fact: there are almost no public records regarding who is buried in which cemetery.

Consider sharing your family story with Mennonite Life for consideration in Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage, a quarterly journal covering history, culture, religious thought and family histories of Amish and Mennonite-related groups originating in Pennsylvania.
