Slowing Down in a Busy Season

Beholding the Joy of Christ

The holidays are always a busy time of year. There are gifts to buy, holiday gatherings to attend, church events, cookies to bake, sickness to avoid, and the list goes on. However, it is the special moments in between these busy moments that are worth more than that full calendar. That extraordinary moment when you child shares their gift with others. It may be the realization that the whole family is together for the first time in months.

These moments when we are able to share the love of Jesus with family and others is what makes Christmas so unique. Psalm 40.5 shows us where to focus "O LORD my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them." This Christmas, take the time to slow down and give thanks for God's special gifts like these and most of all to give thanks for our salvation.
