Dear Friends,

As some of you may know we are currently halfway through our busiest month on record, with more than 60 refugee individuals arriving in September alone. We are grateful to you for your strong and continued support in welcoming refugees. As case managers, employment specialists, legal counselors, welcome teams, and volunteers are busy, busy getting newly arriving families adjusted as quickly and efficiently as possible, we want to take a moment to say thank you, for your commitment in walking beside these new community members. Together, we are making an impact.
Thank you for the time that you spend with us! Below are a few updates for the upcoming months.

Gratefully,

Blessing Baskets Have Returned!

Blessing Baskets are back!

For those of you who don't know, a blessing basket is a basket filled with gift cards that you can purchase and donate to families who may be facing challenges in their resettlement. CWS-Lancaster partnered with many wonderful churches last year, and were able to recieve a few dozen gift cards to give to our clients-- but we have run out of our supply! This is a great opportunity to get your place of business, organization, or church talking about refugees and make a difference for local refugees in Lancaster.

Gift cards such as Walmart and Giant are preferable, please!

You may contact Christine Baer at cbaer@cwsglobal.org for more details.

Save the Date!

Recommended background reading  is suggested (but not required).  The recommended book is City of Thorns: Nine Lives in the World's Largest Refugee Camp by Ben Rawlence.

Stay tuned for more details as we near the dates!

Fall is in the air, it's time to start thinking of EXTRAORDINARY things!

Extraordinary Give is on November 18th, 2016. Be sure to follow us on Facebook for more exciting details of the day!
