Of course, there are many factors behind these rapid changes in our culture, and no single one can explain the shift.
Much attention has been paid to the influence of social media (Tik-Tok and Instagram, for example) that many believe has helped fuel the increase in gender confusion and the explosive growth in surgeries and medical interventions that wrongly promise it can change a person's sex. Our research here at PA Family uncovered massive government spending on these procedures for minor children – in the millions of dollars each year… and growing.
There's the 2014 Supreme Court ruling in Obergefell imposing a "same-sex marriage" on all the states, a ruling that rapidly accelerated the embrace of "alternative" lifestyles and expanding sexual identities.
Media entities like Disney and Hollywood have pushed the LGBTQ agenda on children and adults alike, seeking to drive the culture well past tolerance to celebration, and there is a growing body of laws across the country at all levels that aim to punish those that disagree.
Of course, I don't think it can be denied that our education system has played and is playing a role in the massive shift we are seeing, especially in Generation Z. Books, curriculum, and classroom activism are all implicated in this monumental swing. I know there are many parents here in Pennsylvania and across the country who would prefer their schools not play this role, and are using their voices to spur change.
Here at PA Family, our desire and our work are aimed at allowing every family, child, and person to flourish and reach their God-given potential in concert with His design, both now and in eternity.
