Events Donate Resources Share Q: I am a single mom, with a 13 year old boy.  My son is ADHD, ODD, IED and ASD(autistic spectrum). We have been having services for 6 years now and things have gotten 100 times more horrible within the last year. We have had a behavior specialist, a mobile therapist and a therapeutic therapist for the last 6 years. My son made very little progress. He is intelligent and athletic but he has NO respect for me or any authority figures. Now it has gotten worse, he gets physical with me, very aggressive and breaks stuff in the house, but of course not his stuff. He even got physical with his therapist.   We are now, starting next week, trying a new service which, again, is at the house but with two therapists and for 8 months, I don't think my son will cooperate, but this is the next step before he gets placed out of home, which is what I am trying to avoid.  Now the defiance and disrespect is also starting in school and increasing. I am at a loss and at the end of my rope, but I am afraid of losing him to the system, or any facility placement because I have heard the horror stories, with other kids and abuse from the workers. I need help. I don't know what to do. Also he is currently on Strattera and Abilify.  Help! A: Here's my test for placing a child outside the home.
