Volunteers needed—Are you looking for a fun summer volunteer activity for your small group, youth group, or family? The Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society is in need of groups and individuals to help on Tuesday, August 13, with displaying books for its annual Bookworm Frolic which begins the following day. We also need help with clean up on Saturday, August 17. Contact Jon Weaver-Kreider at usedbooks@lmhs.org
Music in the Orchard—Outdoor summer concerts continue at the 1719 Herr House & Museum at 6 p.m. on June 28 with an acoustic performance by singer-songwriter Dennison Witmer. Matt Wheeler will open. Tickets cost $8, complimentary for children under 12. Concerts continue rain or shine every other Saturday through August 3.
Bike Tour: Susquehanna River Towns Central to Industry & Underground Railroad—Bicycle 22 miles from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, primarily on the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail, learning stories of African Americans and others active in thriving industry and the Underground Railroad during the 18th and 19th centuries. Tickets cost $50 for members, $55 for nonmembers. Register by June 25 at lmhs.org or by calling (717) 917-2701.
