| GREAT news! Planned Parenthood withdraws from taxpayer-funded program, forgoes nearly $4 million in Pennsylvania, $60 million nationally Thanks to the Trump Administration's Protect Life Rule going into effect, which separates abortion from family planning services in taxpayer funding through the federal Title X (Ten) program, Planned Parenthood chose to withdraw from the Title X program. It reveals their ultimate goal: abortion, not healthcare. In total, this means Planned Parenthood in Pennsylvania will not receive nearly $4 million in funding through Title X. A significant loss in funding to Pennsylvania's largest abortion operation is a significant victory for taxpayers and families. Here's a breakdown of the three Pennsylvania regions for Planned Parenthood: - Planned Parenthood Keystone: $2 million in Title X funding annually | Performs 3,000 abortions every year.
- Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania: $1.3 million in Title X funding annually | Performs 9,000 abortions every year.
- Planned Parenthood Western Pennsylvania: $400,000 in Title X funding annually | Performs 3,000 abortions every year.
Planned Parenthood covers half of all abortions in Pennsylvania, amounting to 15,000 abortions every year. Despite Planned Parenthood's claim that Title X funding did not go to abortion, it was supplementing their operations. Just look at the Inquirer who indirectly pointed out this truth. They reported that Planned Parenthood Southeastern PA performed 8,800 abortions "using other funding in the fiscal year ending June 30..." Money is fungible. With Planned Parenthood electing to withdraw from Title X, they will have to use other cash sources to cover their abortion-centric operations. While Planned Parenthood is still receiving millions in taxpayer funding through other means, the Protect Life Rule is a big step in the right direction. | | | Back To School: Remember to Pack Your Religious Freedoms As children and college students head back to school, it's always good to be reminded that religious liberty goes to school too. Please remember that your child has constitutionally-protected religious liberties at school. Last school year, we dealt with numerous infringements on religious freedom, from students trying to offer Bibles to classmates at lunch in Mechanicsburg, to children trying to share a Valentine with John 3:16 or a poem on some Halloween candy. Please remember: Religious speech has the same constitutional protections as non-religious speech. Blaine Adamson owns Hands on Originals, a promotional printing business in Lexington, Kentucky. In their T-shirt printing operation, there have been numerous occasions where Blaine has declined fulfilling an order due to the content of the request: violent or sexual-explicit messages, promotion of a strip club, even one from a church that would have depicted Jesus on a bucket of fried chicken. It is always about the message, not the person requesting the shirt. When he has to deny a request, Blaine offers to connect that customer to another printer who will match his price. Yet when Blaine denied to print shirts for the Gay and Lesbian Services Organization (GLSO) that would promote the local pride festival - and referred them to another printer - that wasn't enough for them. GLSO took Blaine to court. Today, Blaine's case is before the Kentucky Supreme Court. And now he has a chance to secure an important victory for freedom. Please pray for Alliance Defending Freedom in making their court arguments. Pray for the justices on the Kentucky Supreme Court who will hear this case. Pray for continued strength for Blaine, who has been through so much. And most of all, please pray for our nation. The government should not have the power to force anyone to express messages they disagree with. | | | | Mark your calendars Friday, September 20-21, 2019 - Faith, Freedom and Public Schools Seminar, Punxsutawney.
