Anna Groff and Glen Guyton demonstrated ways we can greet one another and show love and appreciation without embracing. We were told that high fives, handshakes, side hugs and "prayerful acknowledgment poses" are ways we can show one another we care, all given with the consent of each individual. In July, Anna Groff led a training on consent for members representing three Chicago-area congregations. The training addressed healthy touch, how to model boundaries for kids, consent in worship rituals, and general best practices for abuse prevention. Consider bringing this training to your faith community! Dove's Nest offers in-person events and live Zoom video trainings. Dove's Nest board members celebrated the organization's 10-year anniversary at the Mennonite Church USA convention in Kansas City in July. In 2009, Dove's Nest began as a grassroots movement among concerned Mennonites at that year's Mennonite Church USA Convention. At this year's MennoCon19, Dove's Nest was honored to share a display with Mennonite Women USA. Dove's Nest also offered four seminars for adults and two for youth, among other activities.
