Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning The Fall 2019 term of the Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning® announces its upcoming classes. The new Pathways Institute catalog along with online registration forms are available here. The courses and events are open to all Lancaster County residents as well as residents from neighboring counties, who are age 55 years or above. There is a registration fee which includes enrollment in to up to 8 courses per semester as well as a per course option. There are also day trips and special events which are offered in addition to the regular classes. Most classes are held on the Landis Homes campus which is located at 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz. A Book  for Everyone During Bookworm Frolic
Wednesday to Friday, August 14 to 16, 9 am to 7 pm and Saturday, August 17, 9 am to 4 pm. Explore 40,000 books on the grounds of Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society at its annual sale,
"With such a variety of books, there is something for everyone,"
~says Frolic organizer Jon Weaver-Kreider.
Make incredible finds among the twenty-two categories offered. Fiction and children's literature as well as travel, music, and history are just a few of the popular categories.
Hardback books are $3 and paperbacks are $1.50 for the first three days of the sale, and everything is half-price on Saturday. During the final two days of the Frolic, there is a "box deal" where prices are reduced even further—$15 per box on Friday, and $12 per box on Saturday. Records are $.50 and CDs/DVDs $3. They are also included in the half-price and box deals.
The Bookworm Frolic is held rain or shine. While the sale is outside, a tent provides cover from rain and sun. A food truck, TJ's Ice Cream, will offer refreshments on Wednesday.
The Society's year-round bookstore will be open as usual, selling new and used books, folk art, music, and family history resources.
Funds raised during the Bookworm Frolic support Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society's mission to hold, honor, and share items and stories featuring the lived experiences and faith values of Lancaster Mennonites and interrelated communities. | |
